COP29 side event: Why Accountability is Key to a Successful Just Transition

  Baku, Azerbaijan
          20 November 2024
As developing nations seek fast, affordable funding with little oversight, concerns around integrity violations and environmental compliance are rising—and can be expected to rise significantly more. This event will explore the urgent need for increased accountability in climate finance as development finance institutions, like the World Bank Group, increase their commitments to climate lending. This discussion will focus on the challenges faced by accountability mechanisms in addressing climate-related complaints and propose solutions to strengthen accountability moving forward.
