The Independent Redress Mechanism (IRM) of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) is mandated to build the capacity of grievance redress mechanisms (GRMs) of GCF’s Direct Access Entities (DAEs) to establish a GRM and increase awareness of its work with the public. The Independent Integrity Unit (IIU) of the GCF is mandated to promote awareness of GCF integrity standards and build the capacity of DAEs to effectively prevent, respond to, mitigate, and remedy prohibited practices.

The IRM and IIU will be hosting workshops in Casablanca, Morocco from 15-19 April 2024. Representatives from civil society are invited to attend the workshops to gain a better understanding of the GCF’s policies around grievance redress and integrity issues. The workshop is targeted at CSO participants from Northern and Western Africa who work on issues around climate justice, environmental law, human rights, development project impacts, etc. The workshops will also be attended by GCF’s Direct Access Entities (DAEs).
