The IRM has published its first monitoring report on the implementation of the Problem Solving Agreement reached between the Ministry of Water and Environment of Uganda and complainants under IRM Case C0010 Uganda.

Since the agreement was signed in July 2025, the parties have taken meaningful steps to implement their commitments. They identified additional wetland users eligible for alternative livelihood support, organised study tours for affected communities to learn from good livelihood restoration practices, strengthened project-level grievance redress mechanisms and continued to enhance stakeholder engagement practices.

The Ministry of Water and Environment of Uganda has informed the complainants that, in the coming months, it will provide alternative livelihood support to eligible wetland users. The IRM will continue monitoring the implementation of the agreement until all commitments have been fulfilled.
