The Independent Redress Mechanism (IRM) addresses complaints by people who believe they are negatively affected or may be affected by projects or programmes funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

The IRM regularly conducts workshops with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to increase awareness of our work and the availability of the mechanism to file an official complaint.

We will be hosting an in-person workshop where you can learn more about the IRM’s mission and values and how we manage complaints about GCF projects. The workshop will be conducted in English and is targeted at CSO participants from Eastern Africa who work on issues around climate justice, environmental law, human rights, development project impacts, etc.

The workshop is tentatively scheduled to take place in Kigali, Rwanda from 25-27 July 2023. We can only accommodate a limited number of participants and participation is limited to one representative per organisation. To indicate your interest in the workshop, please fill out this form by 24 May 2023: https://forms.gle/Zrhz1ZKE5Tx1cbYq9. Selected participants will be notified later in May.

The Independent Integrity Unit of the GCF will also be hosting an outreach workshop to discuss integrity issues on 28 July. You can indicate your interest in this workshop using the form above.

Questions about the workshop can be directed to [email protected].
